Changing your Course

Notifying SUSI of a Course Change

You do not need to have accepted a place on a course in order to apply for a grant. You should complete the application form with details of the course that you hope to study. However, you will need to let SUSI know if you accept a different course to the one that you entered into the online application form. You can do this in the following ways:

CAO Applicants

If you gave the CAO permission to share your course information with SUSI, they will confirm details of your chosen course to us when you accept a CAO place offer. If you did not give the CAO permission to share your course details with us, or if you accept a place not offered to you through the CAO (for example, on a PLC course or on a course in the EU/UK), you will need to complete an online Course Change Notification form.

SUSI Course Change Notification Form

You can inform SUSI that you have accepted a place on a different course by submitting an online Course Change Notification form through the 'My Courses' section of your student portal. You can submit a new online Course Change Notification form at any time. Your application will be decided on the basis of the most recent course details provided to SUSI by any of the above methods. Grants can only be awarded in respect of approved courses.

Withdrawing or Deferring your Place

If you decide not to attend college or defer your place, it’s important to cancel your grant application in the ‘My Requests’ tab in your SUSI student portal. See Cancelling Your Application for more details.
