The Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science has introduced a Covid-19 Once Off Emergency Grant of €250 for further and higher education students. If you’ve been awarded funding by SUSI for academic year 2020/21, you’ll receive this grant directly from SUSI.
The grant was paid to registered students in December 2020. In some cases, students will receive the payment during 2021, for example if bank details were not submitted in time or if college registration is yet to be confirmed.
Simply log in to your account, click the ‘My Banking’ tab at the top of the screen and follow the instructions. If you do not add your bank details, SUSI will be unable to process your payment.
Remember, SUSI will never ask you:
Your bank details can only be added or updated by you through your online SUSI account.

Who will receive this grant?
All students awarded funding by SUSI for academic year 2020/21 and confirmed as registered will receive the Covid-19 Once Off Emergency Grant of €250.
How will I receive the grant?
SUSI will pay the grant directly to students through their registered bank account.

The Covid-19 Once Off Emergency Grant is a single payment of €250.
When will I receive it?

Students who have not yet added their bank details to their SUSI account should do so as soon as possible.
How will students who have not been awarded funding by SUSI receive the Covid-19 Once Off Emergency Grant?
SUSI will only pay the grant to students who have been awarded funding by SUSI for academic year 20/21.
Full-time EU undergraduate and postgraduate students in publically-funded institutions who have not been awarded funding by SUSI will be contacted directly by their higher education institution with further details.
